Vice President of Jawalamukhi unit of Bhartiya Janta party Pooja Deogar alleged that certain shopkeepers in Jawalamukhi were being deliberately targeted and harassed after the Municipal Council elections. She claimed that officials entered specific lanes and targeted particular fruit shops linked to BJP supporters.
According to Pooja Deogar, vandalism took place around 1:30 am, causing heavy losses to a fruit vendor. She alleged that vegetables, fruits, important papers, and other belongings were missing from the shop after the incident. She further stated that early the next morning, officials from the local administration arrived and informed the shopkeeper that the structure would be removed and demolished.
Deogar questioned the justification given by officials, who reportedly claimed that the shops were creating difficulty for vehicle movement. She argued that vehicles rarely enter the narrow Temple Road lanes, making the explanation questionable.
She also alleged that only one individual was singled out because he supported their ideology and actively campaigned with her during the elections. Deogar said many local people were afraid to openly support them during the campaign, and according to her, the public already understands the reasons behind that fear.
