Ravinder Singh Ravi Says People’s Verdict Respected Despite Narrow 87-Vote Margin in Jawalamukhi Civic Polls

Jawalamukhi

Former Himachal Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Ravinder Singh Ravi addressed the media in Jawalamukhi following the Nagar Parishad election results, stating that democracy is based on accepting the people’s mandate with respect.

Ravi said BJP workers and party-supported candidates worked hard during the election campaign, fulfilling every responsibility assigned to them. However, he added that victory and defeat are two sides of the same coin in politics.

He congratulated the winning side and extended best wishes to BJP-backed candidates who narrowly missed victory. According to Ravi, Congress-supported candidates secured 2,070 votes, while BJP-supported candidates received 1,983 votes, leaving a slim margin of only 87 votes between the two sides.

He remarked that this was perhaps the closest electoral contest ever witnessed in the Jawalamukhi Assembly constituency. Ravi noted that with slightly more effort, the outcome could have been different, but emphasized that the people’s decision must always be respected.

The BJP leader also urged the newly elected Nagar Parishad to focus on cleanliness and civic management in the world-famous Jawalamukhi Shaktipeeth. He pointed out that other major temples in Kangra district, including Chamunda and Brajeshwari temples, maintain better surroundings and facilities, and similar attention should be given to Jawalamukhi as well.
